Photographed using a Dark Energy Camera, "God's Hand" Reaching for the Stars

"God's Hand" seems to be stretching out toward ESO 257-19 (PGC 21338), a spiral galaxy located more than 100 million light years away.

The distance that light travels in a year, or roughly 9.46 trillion kilometers, is called a "light year."

The "Hand of God" is captured by astronomers.

The "poop deck" or Gum Nebula is located in the Puppis constellation, 1,300 light-years away.
